Kushikatsu / Skewered cutlet (for 3 people)
Things to prepare:
• Favourite ingredients chicken, sausage, prawn, mushroom, pumpkin, eggplant, okra, cheese, banana etc)
• Oil for deep frying
• Panko bread crumb 200g
• Plain flour 200g
• Salt 2g
• Water 200ml
• Bamboo skewers
Special kushikatsu sauce
• Red wine 80ml
• Worcestershire sauce 300ml
• Tonkatsu sauce 30g
• Tomato sauce 15g
• Water 80ml
• Raw sugar 30g
Recipe
1. Mix plan flour, salt and water (200ml) in a bowl and store in the fridge
2. Make special kushikatsu sauce
1) Heat the red wine in a saucepan to evaporate alcohol
2) Add Worcestershire sauce, tonkatsu sauce, tomato sauce, water (80ml) and raw sugar and bring to the boil. Simmer for 5 minutes
3) Store in a container in a room temperature
3. Chop your favourite ingredients (refer to above photo for size) and put on skewers
4. Heat the oil in a pot to 180-190 degrees
5. Dip the skewered ingredients in flour mix and panko bread crumb
6. Deep fry the skewered ingredients until golden brown
7. Enjoy with special kushikatsu sauce
